ABOUT
Who are you?
My name is Derek Linder, and I have been interested in airplanes and aviation for as long as I can remember. I have a special interest in aviation history and have often been found in libraries and on the internet looking up airplane-related information. I like serial numbers and registration numbers. I'm one of the guys you might run into at the airport, camera in hand, taking pictures of anything with wings that happens to be passing by.
What is this site about?
If you guessed the Cessna Caravan, you'd be right on the money! (I hope the web address was your first clue…then maybe the cessnacaravan.org logo…) The site will center around the individual histories of each Caravan. These histories will contain information about each airframe as it becomes available and will be sorted by serial number. Photos, registration changes, accidents, movements and spotting, all will be used. There will be a manufacturer serial number (msn) to registration index which will function as a table of contents to access the histories as they are compiled and added to this site.
Is this site affiliated with Cessna?
No, cessnacaravan.org is not affiliated with Cessna Aircraft Company, Textron Aviation or Textron Inc.
How can I help?
I'm glad you asked! Aviation is the story of people. People purchase airplanes, fly airplanes, maintain airplanes, ride on airplanes. It is through the efforts of people like yourself that sites like cessnacaravan.org become useful. Photos, stories, documents and airplane spotting all come together to help record an airplane's history. If you have anything about the Caravan that you would like to see on this site, please feel free to drop me a line at n208lp “at” outlook.com. Submissions are always welcome!
Why is my Caravan picture on your site?
The best attempts are being made to obtain permission and credit information before using any photos or proprietary information on this site. If you see your material on this site without the proper credit, I will be glad to either update it with the proper credit or remove it from the site. Please inform me if you feel any infraction has occurred.
I submitted a Caravan picture to [insert popular aviation photo site here], would you like to use it as well?
Absolutely! If you have submitted a Caravan picture to any of the aviation photo sites on the internet and would be willing to also have it displayed on cessnacaravan.org, I would be grateful to oblige! E-mail the picture with the credit information and any details about the picture (like airport, location, date) to n208pl “at” outlook.com, and I will be glad to add it to the corresponding aircraft history page.
